now how many times have we asked ourselves that question?

From the undiagnosed but waiting , to the stage 4 group.... 

"normal is as normal does" lol

So i sit here, the day after my first rad treatment ...and i am asking myself , is this normal?

Every little red spot... every twinge... is this normal?

So i thought id start a thread were people can ask that question...

Is this normal?

My breast is sore, tender nipple and a very light red in one area...

can there be a reaction after 1 treatment?

Yes, for you it could be. Everyone responds differently to radiation. For me the first couple were nerve wracking. Radiation scared me and I was checking every inch that had been radiated. I pinked up quickly, never had any skin breaks, but did peal quite a bit at the end. I also had waves of nausea for the first week or so, usually about 20 minutes after I left rads.



Just as I am sure you have read here, drink lots of water, keep your skin moisturized, don't wear a bra if you can (let them breathe). Hang in there. This too shall pass! Wishing you the best as you continue!
