Two days before chemo

I was diagnosed in May 2013, had lumpectomy in June and start chemo on Wednesday. I'm nervous, scared and pray to God for strength. Currently I'm a little scared of getting my hair cut short on Tuesday. Actually more worried about my reaction and also when I lose all of it. I hope I wear my bald head with pride. I don't feel ready for all of this, but who is, right?

Got my hair cut short and love it! I now feel ready for my first day of chemo tomorrow (or rather later today). I am going to try to get some sleep.

I've been having a tough time after my first chemo treatment last Wednesday. I missed a week or more of 2 meds for depression and anxiety and it all came crashing in on me at once. I called and just got my prescriptions from the pharmacy. I can't believe I let that happen. I was so comsumed by this chemo that I didn't keep track. I still feel horrible with side effects and it's been 6 days. "This too shall pass." I called the oncs nurse this morning because I am at wit's end. She explained the reasons for some of my main concerns, so I'm trying to get through the day.

Any words of comfort are welcome. Thanks.

(((Viccha))) so sorry you are having a rough time...yes, this too shall pass and it will be behind you but for now, the chemo is tough but the meds for side effects are great. I took them on schedule even if I felt "okay" to keep things under control and found the chemo wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. And my chemo nurses were wonderful, I could call them anytime so hopefully you are getting the same support from yours...and, hope you have visited the chemo support forums like christina suggested - you will find so much good information, great tips to help you cope and, most of all, lots of women who know what you're going thru. It was so important for me to have "sisters" in this fight so I did not feel alone, I hope you are finding that here in the forums, take care, we're here for you...(((Hugs))) Maureen
