Newbie with TNBC
Hi everyone. I am new here. I decided that I am ready to start talking to others who are going through the same thing as me. I was just diagnosed in late May with Stage 1A. I am also BRCA 1 positive. So after my treatments, i will be getting a hysterectomy. I live in Texas with my husband and 2 daughters. I am 27 years old and am ready to fight this battle with everything I've got. My sister (41 y.o) past away last year of Ovarian cancer that had mets to her breast, liver and bones. While i know what i have is different, it still scares me. But i have been staying as positive as possible.
I hope all of you are doing well and having a Happy 4th of July

Welcome and I'm sorry you're here. I was 34 when diagnosed 2 years ago. I'm also BRCA1 positive as is my 19 year old daughter.
I'm very sorry about your sister. Of course this scares you. Please don't feel you absolutely must stay positive. It's ok to let your emotions run the gamut.
I think you'll find a lot of support and information here. -
So sorry about your sister, try and stay positive. I never thought I would get to the other side but here I am cancer free at the end of the road. I am brca 1 positive too and planning to get my ovaries out also. Hang in there, its scary but you can do it!

Thank y'all. I have definitely let my self go through all the roller coaster emotions. The first couple weeks were the hardest. Next Wednesday I will be starting my Chemotherapy. I am pretty nervous about it but I know that it's a necessary evil. I will have 8 rounds which will be equal to 24 weeks. If I have done my calculations right...that means I will be done on Christmas Day.

Hello SweetheartinTX
I have just read your post and wanted to say how moved I was by it. I was so sorry to hear about your sister who died last year. What a lot of sadness you have had at such a young age. I wanted to say that I am thinking of you and hoping everything will be alright.
I do hope you will get through chemotherapy without too many problems. Just take care of yourself and get plenty of rest during that treatment, drink plenty of water and keep looking forward as you take one day at a time. If I can help in any way please post and let me know, either here on my thread Calling all triple negative breast cancer patients in the UK. You can get through this.
Fond thoughts.

Thank you. Yes I have lost lots of friends and family of cancer already. While you never get use to it, it's as though I almost expect it now. Which I know isn't good. However, I have always been a 'glass half full' type of person. I look on the bright side of things and I know I am blessed to have such a great support system.
Also, thank you for the tips on what to do during Chemo. -
Also a source of great information for 3NBC http://www.tnbcfoundation.org/

Hi Sylvia,
It's nice to see you here and I hope all is well with you. I very recently came back to BCO after being gone since last year. I hope this finds you well.
Warm Regards,
Betty
