Florida Hospital Cancer Institute?
Can anyone give me any information on the institute? I will be moving to Orlando in a few months and need a whole new set of doctors. First on my list though is a plastic surgeon to get implants. (My DIEP did not give me any where near the size that I was before or desired.) So if anyone can give me any information or has some recommendations for doctors, I would appreciate it! TIA

Hi Amy! All of my treatment has been at Florida Hospital, and all of the doctors have been great.
I go to Hematology & Oncology Consultants and really like them. Appointments are always on time and the staff is very good. They have a rule that they'll call you back the same day you call in no matter what.
The plastic surgeon who did my reconstruction is Dr. Orlando Cicilioni. The techs who do my mammograms have commented to me how he seems to get some of the best results with reconstruction. Even my family physician made me give her the name of my plastic surgeon because a friend of hers needed reconstruction and mine looked so great.
I hope that helps. An early welcome to Orlando!

Thank you so much. I just looked him up and his pics look good. I was expecially impressed with the radiated one. I will have to go for a consult when I get into town. Hopefully he will have more pics for me to look at and make a more informed decision.

Hi Amy
I too had all my treatments at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute. My onco was Dr. Sonalee Shroff also at the Hematology and Oncology Consultants. I really like her she takes the time to listen and answer your questions. At the chemo room all the nurses are friendly and helpful. I did my radiation downstairs. My plastic surgeon is also Dr. Cicilloni. He did an awesome job. I meet with him in a couple of weeks to talk about my exchange surgery. I had a double mx with tissue expanders. If you need a breast surgeon, Dr. Kamy Kemp was mine. She was the one who sent me for my MRI that found my cancer. I didn't show up on my mamo or an ultrasound. She is absolutely awesome! -
I initially started with MD Anderson and jumped ship 1 day before chemo.. yeah they did not like me.. I also go to Hemotology and Oncology consultants and see the cutest doc.. Molthrop lol.. he is awesome and his nurse Melinda is out of this world. She was a research nurse in Canada and extremely knowledgeable. As to plastic surgery there was a new guy in town that is recommended by Melinda.. Newman ? Cicillioni .. I heard of him but got mixed reviews. There also is Dr. Jeremy.. Jeffrey ?? Hartog who moved from Miami and does pretty sexy stuff like take your own fat.. grow it in petri dish and the reinject.. So there are lots to choose from.
Welcome to Orlando! To the oven lol...

I had completely forgotten I put up this post. It is amazing how life changes. On our way to Florida, we stopped in Maryland to see my daughters dad. He is stationed here at Andrews AFB. While here, I found out two of my 3 sisters live here! Because of our dad, I haven't seen them or even spoken to them in 16 years! So guess where we are staying. Yep. We have changed our plans and decided to stay in Maryland/VA area. So now I need to find drs in this area. Lol
