Anyone had mastectomy after radiation, lymphedema???

Hello ladies

I need to know (I can't be the only one....) your thoughts re mastectomy following lumpectomy, breast conservation, chemo, radiation, lymphedema.  My surgery was almost 2 yrs ago, I live with lymphedema every day and have had enough. The fear and anxiety it causes me is becoming unbearable and makes it difficult to reclaim my life.  I have tried massage and bras to restrict/treat swelling and am now discussing a bilateral mastectomy and maybe reconstruction with my breast surgeon. He wants me to wait in case it resolves, but I feel it's only getting worse (loads of antibiotics, analgesics) and doubt it is going to improve. I would really appreciate hearing from you ladies.
