Does anyone know when blood counts are lowest?? Thx!!

I was told it was two weeks after the Che,o treatment. That is why neulasta is important, ot keeps you WBC from going so low they can't continue treatment. Hope this helps and that you are doing well!

Depending on your chemo drugs, the nadir (low point) for white blood cells (WBC) is 7-9 days post infusion.  Your red blood cells (RBC) and hemoglobin (Hgb) will most likely stairstep as you progress through chemo - fall and then come up a little, then fall farther.  Try to consume protein and iron-rich foods to keep them at a high enough level to continue with treatment and feel decent.  Your platelets are repaired more quickly, about every five days, so they can be up one day and low the next.

And be prepared for you WBC and RBC count to be below normal for a while after chemo is finished.  The RBC count will eventually come up to normal ranges but your WBC count may stay in the low normal range with some dips below normal range for the rest of your life.  Thisis  common after chemo and doctors aren't worried about it when they know you have had chemo.

I have just had my 6th weekly taxol/herceptin treatment and my white blood count is increasing week to week and I have had absolutely none of the neulasta, etc shots. Friday my WBC was 13.5! Any idea why mine would continue to increase? Thank you
