I am 64 and just back from the gyn and she says my glands are imflammed from lack of estrogen

and she wants me to use 2 grams of estrace everyday for two weeks and then 1 gram

twice a week as maintenance.  I mentioned vagifem and she just was not receptive.  This amount

of estrogen worries me, anyone else in my situation?

It would worry me a LOT if your cancer eas estrogen receptive. I would be getting a second opinion right away.

My onc. And my GYN says no estrogen at all...including creams. I am 61 with estrogen receptive BC. I agree with Melissa.... There must be something else you can take for the glands.

What glands are inflamed? Is this something that happens after menopause? Just curious--

I am a 65 year old w/retun of ER pos breast cancer after just 6 years. No history of cancers in my family at all. I took HRT for 12 years ( later ones were reduced doses) I now believe this to be my ca cause. Provera especially. I hade issues w/sleep, maintaining weight and my sex drive. Just found out  I have return of same type now in my ribs/chest. I would beg you not to go on any HRT. I also told every female in my family and friends to not use it. I wish I could sue over it but statute of limitations is past.

Don't!!! My mum had breast cancer in 1999. Diagnosed shortly after being prescribed HRT due to menopause issues. Had a horrible oncologist who decided not to prescribe her tamoxifen after the lumpectomy and radiation therapy.

7 yrs later diagnosed with mets in her hip. Almost 8 yrs later she is coming to the end of her battle. But if only she hadn't been prescribed the oestrogen. She is oestrogen receptive. And if she had of taken Tamoxifen? Could things of been different????

I wouldn't do it! My friend used Premarin it for 20 years and last year she got cancer in both breasts and had to have a double mastectomy. She is doing fine, but wishes she hadn't used Premarin.
