6 mo. follow up: MRI instead of mammo?

Options

I have advocated for myself to get an MRI for my first follow up imaging since chemo and radiation. Then I can address whether to do a mammo in another 6 months. Anyone else?

That is what I am considering doing as well.  MRI shows more and is not all that more expensive.  I suppose it will depend on insurance coverage.  I'm willing to pay for it myself.

I had mammo's every six months after tx, for 2 years, at 2 year mark an MRI, now back to 6 months mammo's.

My doctor does the MRI at 2 years, I was fine with that.  I agree with scene though, I'd pay for a test myself if my Inusrance didnt cover just to have peace of mind.

I alternated mammo and MRI every six months. 3.5 years later, the mammo in the fall missed a recurrence but the mri in the spring picked it up. Was still confined only to breast tissue, thankfully. Mri seems better for dense breast tissue. Insurance paid without questions.

My doctor mentioned alternating mammo with MRI, but he already scheduled the MRI for my first 6 month follow-up. I'm good with that cuz I think MRI is better when you have dense breasts,, or breast in my case!
