2 years DCIS-free+worried about fibrocystic breast

Hello all  - It has been two years since I have been on these boards. So many of you were so helpful to me when my sister was diagnosed with DCIS (Grade 3 -Comedo Necrosis - Er-Pr-) back in 2011 and though I haven't been on here since, I think of you often and hope you are well.

My sister has been DCIS free since June 2011 and doing very well. She had a full MRI of both breasts 6 months ago and all was fine. She went back yesterday for 6 month check-up and this time, the Dr.  felt some "nodularity" in the upper quadrant of the breast which had DCIS (lower quadrant...) and has ordered a mammo and ultrasound.

It could be nothing - she has a fibro-cystic history - but she is now awaiting authorizations which seem to take for bloody ever.....and of course she is worried.

Her main concern is that after radiation therapy in 2011 (30 treatments I think..) her once fibro-cystic breasts were suddenly free of what she calls "all that brocolli and cauliflower stuff in there". Then overnight, she says, about a month ago, she noticed it was all back - tons of it -  and is wondering if anyone else has had this experience. It at once comforts her to think it might be just fibro-cystic but she finds it strange that it came back so suddenly. Any thougts would be much appreicated. Thank you
