Surgeon Moved Up Appointment After Receiving BSGI Results

I was diagnosed with ILC on May 9 - the first surgeon I met with scheduled an MRI after a short discussion.  I did not have a good feeling from the surgeon but went ahead and went to the MRI appointment.  The MRI machine and I did not get along - way to small.  I then met with another surgeon and she scheduled a BSGI because of my issues with the MRI.  I went last Friday to have the test and was scheduled for to meet with my surgeon on Friday to review the results.  Her office called me yesterday afternoon and said that she wanted to meet with me on Wednesday (tomorrow) - I explained that I already had an appointment and the scheduler said she and the doctor knew that and that she did not want to wait until Friday.  Is this bad and should I be worried that the test showed something bad.  Has anyone had this happen and it not be bad news?  What could the BSGI have shown that is causing the urgency?  Any sharing would be greatly appreciated...

paulae...moving your appt up does suggest a sense of urgency but try not to freak out about it. I know hard to do if not impossible but just keep in mind whatever it is doesnt mean it cant be treated. My sister has ILC and her doctors moved rather quickly after she was dx. Maybe, and I sure dont know for sure because I am not a dr, but ILC is a kind of bc that is hard to detect and travels so it is kind of a runaway train sometimes.  My sister had scans and it showed a carcinoid in her lungs, and a cyst in her liver. The cyst was no big deal but the carcinoid they def wanted to remove asap before they did the MX which is what they decided her treatment would be. The dr said carcinoids are common(she is not a smoker) and it was probably there for 10-20 years. They did collapse her lung and take it out. She is fine now. I have IDC so my type of cancer doesnt warrant scans. Maybe it is a good thing in a way that it has been rescheduled so you can find out sooner what you are dealing with. BTW did you ask them why they changed your appt? You might want to do that just so you arent blindsided. Keep the faith - and keep us posted. Diane

Hang in there, Paulae.  When I was first diagnosed with ILC a little over a year ago, I found out at work on a Thursday and saw the surgeon the next day. I had blood work, chest x-ray, etc.  It all happened very fast.  I don't know why of course they rescheduled you, but it could be they just want to get a jump on things.  As Diane mentioned above, ILC can be a bit unpredictable and sneaky.  Just take it step by step...hugs to you and I'll be sending you good thoughts today
