I am sorry to say it will take a long time. During the first two months after chemo, it may not grow at all.  After eight months, I had maybe two and a bit inches of hair.  It does start to grow a bit more after that. Twenty months after chemo, my hair was back to a short bob, albeit curly.

Check out the Hair, hair, hair thread.

I hope yours grows fast Smile

Mine does seem to be growing a bit. But now I have another problem hair is growing on my face too. Like a beard. On top of everything else I feel this is the last straw!! Oh well I guess I'll just google hair removal. Oh the irony.

It is ironic, isn't it!  I found one application of Nair Face Cream worked well.  I used very little as I have sensitive skin.  The facial hair did not grow back.

Do you find that you have this irresistable need to pet your head?  I couldn't keep my hands off my head when the fuzz started growing in.  My daughter loved 'petting' my head as well.  I guess we were all excited to see 'bald mom' disappear.

    Love your blog!  I understand!

chemobiyatch... I had the same; when my hair started to grow back, I also developed a lot of very fine, white, downy facial hair.  It disappeared after awhile.

Hair - I am 12 months post chemo, have a full head of hair, have had 5 haircuts (niece is hair stylist), and my new hair is better than my old hair by far (hate to admit this!)     My scalp looked like yours 10 months ago.

    1)   Take biotin - it really helps thicken it up!

    2)   I rubbed my head with olive oil.   I always smelled like an Italian restaurant, but it did something!  What I am not sure!

    3)   I swear the frequent hair trimmings helped.   I started coloring my hair when I barely had fuzz.  It was white and I just couldn't tolerate it.  It helped me mentally!

    4)  My natural part is opposite of what it used to be!

    5)  My hair is much longer than pic - I have to take a new pic soon!

Enjoy the growing back of the hair.  You never have a bad hair day ever again!

    Denise

Thanks for the tips. I'm sitting with a olive oil head as I type!! I did dye my hair today. I was so nervous because I had read that it could be green or fall out. It came out brownish, more red than usual but not too bad. But I'm still pretty bald.

I am keeping a record with pics of my hair regrowth on my blog: http://iameclectica.blogspot.co.uk/p/chemo-hair-regrowth_16.html

After 5 months, it is very thick, but still short and growing slowly.  I don't mind - its my hair and I love it!

I started colouring it at 3 months post chemo - no more Chemo White.  I used a temporary hair dye in order to avoid the harsher chemos, but it seemed to cover all the grey very well.  I spent some time researching hair dyes see http://iameclectica.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/colouring-hair-after-chemotherapy.html

    @ Gotcha13

I wax it and it grows back just like it would have before. :( but it does take longer and my leg hairs are very thin. Hope this gives some help!
