Hi Guys,

I was just out for a bike ride and managed to clip wheels with my partner and fell on my at risk arm (axillary clearance). Had surgery over a year ago, bilateral mastectomy, chemo, and radiotherapy on this right side. I've now got road rash all down my right side, legs, arm and hand, not to mention a black eye, grazed chin and lost my vision for a few mins. Anyway, my real concern now is whether it will tip me into lymphoedema. I've managed to cycle and run with no sleeves and no issues and have done long haul flights with no problems. So I don't think I'm majorly rpone generally. I've got some cephalexin which I will take for 5 days. Just wondering whether any of you have had multiple gashes or grazes and gotten away with it. Really worried about the potential consequences of this.

Cheers

You should take precaution against infection and so keep those "grazed" areas really clean.

I broke my arm in 3 places up in the shoulder area and thought for sure I would get lymphedema but I didn't.

Makes me wonder if some people are more naturally prone to it versus others.

Hope all goes well for you.
