Mastectomy a year and half ago, now enlarged nodes

I had a mastectomy on right breast  in September 2011 for DCIS.  I wasn't a candidate for lumpectomy because I could not do radiation because of a bone thing I have.  I have done so well since the surgery.  (No recon).  For the past week, I have had a lot of pain in mastectomy scar and under my right arm.  I went to my GYN and she said that I have some enlarged lymph nodes in this area.  She is kicking me back to breast surgeon to check and ultrasound.  Do I need to be worried about this?

jmilton....I don't have an answer for you but I wanted you to know that I read your post and I am hoping for good news from your surgeon.  From the little that I do know...swollen lymph nodes can be from a lot of different things besides cancer.  But, once one has had cancer, even DCIS, our minds automatically go there.  Good luck and please let us know what you find out.

Sending you lots of warm hugs and energy for peace as you wait and good news from the doc!

Wishing you B9 findings. Lymph glands can enlarge for many reasons. It's a good idea to investigate the cause. Hope your appointment is soon. Waiting is the worst part.

Thanks Openheart and Wren.  Hopefully it is nothing.  You always worry though.
