Back for the Third Time

I do not know what to say.  I just received the news that my cancer has returned for the third time.  I barely made it a year from my last recurrence when  at my  3 month oncologist visit my tumor markers had gone way up.  Because of lack of reliabily on these tests, I was really not too worried.  After a CT scan found a swollen lymph node, I had it biopsied and yesterday got the results that the cancer had returned.  I will see my oncologist on Thursday to get the plan of action and also find out the results of my pet scan.    Please keep me in your prayers as I start this journey again.

Thanks ladies for the prayers. I never thought I would be back again, at least not this soon. I will update after my appointment tomorrow. I am not even sure if this is a recurrence since it is in my lymph nodes this time and was not before. Hope I can some much needed clarification tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you are having to face it for the third time. Your signature only lists surgery, have you already done chemo/Herceptin and/or anti-hormonals?

Yes. I did chemo and radiation with my first diagnosis.

So sorry, Baby Ruth.  I'm not just sorry, I'm angry that you're dealing with this AGAIN!  SO unfair!

    I'll be praying.

The results of my pet scan were good! The cancer is contained in my lymph nodes. I have two that will need to be removed. My oncologist was trying to get me into the Navelbine clinical trial but I could not do it based on my prior kidney cancer. I needed to be 5 years out but was I am only 4 years and 4 months out. I am not sure what the plan will be next, She is recommending that I do the same chemo regime as before but I wonder how successful it truly was if I am already on my second recurrence. A lot to think about.
