Yes, I confess, I'm somewhat of a techie-geek ;) and I have an iPOD, laptop PC and (new) Android smart phone... but thought I'd recommend to the entire BC community a great FREE helpful informational resource - NO iPOD required!

If you have a PC you can download software onto, I highly recommend downloading the iTUNES applicaton (it's FREE via the apple.com site), and, after downloading, navigate to the "apple store" and then navigate to the "PODCASTS" area, and enter the search term "breast cancer"... dear friends, you will be AMAZED at the amount of free (audio) content available to anyone who has the iTUNES application! You can simply select the "podcast(s)" that interest you, select "subscribe" and those podcast(s) can be, in turn, then be downloaded onto your computer. (I believe you can also access/listen to podcasts of your choice individually at the iTUNES Store.) IF you DO have an iPOD, the podcast(s) of your choice can be individually or collectively be then downloaded onto your own personal iPOD (depending of course, on space allocated to be able to do so).

Case in point: while awaiting DH to get my oil changed yesterday & get my flat tire fixed, and in between my 2 appts to see the BS and MO, I listened to a very highly informative talk by top medical BC professionals re. DCIS (55 minutes). Nice thing is that when I turned the podcast I was listening to OFF, when I returned to it some hours later, it "bookmarks" wher I was at and I never "missed a beat." Nice feature, that!

God bless Steve Jobs! Even though cancer took him from us, I'll forever sing his praises for the iPOD invention - and how it also helped me drop 90 lbs (with tons of music playlists I used for walking, jogging and even swimming!) :)

My SIL just loves audio books - but you do NOT need an iPOD to enjoy all the free podcasts available - they can all be played on a PC with the iTUNES software. Neat, huh?! ;)

Stilll hanging in there....but live in constant awareness of every pain....wondering if 'Mets" are waiting in the wings for me...and in the meantime I try to remember to laugh, giggle, chuckle as often as possible.  Web site BreastCancerWarrior.net has been REALLY helpful.  Full of great info and LOTS of giggles (including a comic strip about living with BC).  (Laughter is powerful medicine!)
