Hello everyone! I sure hope u r all doing well, and feeling as few side effects as possible or better yet, no side effects!!! Well im in need of some serious insight from survivors with inflammatory breast cancer. Well, im a brca1 carrier and am gonna get bilateral salpingo oophorectomy on June 17. My problem is this,,,,,has amyone chosen not to take anti-hormonals and never had a recurrence?? I am terrified of all the side effects people have posted, and since im getting my surgery done, i wont have to worry about progesterone positive anymore, but will be at risk of osteoporosis and cardiac disease due to surgery., The anti-hormonals would increase this risk too....

I am young at 43 and am barely feeling like myself again, especially through everything my body has gone thru. I have done everything i need to do so far but am dreading the side effects of arimidex and/or recurrennce. I want to dpo everything i can to fight this silent beast!!, but i want to also be able to enjoy my life once again. Pls anyone with advice, tips, or encouragement!!!!

thank u all, oh and also has anyone been able to enjoy sex again? Has anyone been able to exercise??

    Suzilla,

Your stats say you are ER/PR-, so not sure why they would put you on an anti-hormonals.  I'm ER+ and have been on Femara for 3 years now.  I'm just about 4 years out from diagnosis.  The first 6 months were tough because of the joint pain and feeling like you are 80, but eased up quite a bit after 6 months and still working for me.  I've had no reoccurrences in the last 3 years.

I would be more afraid of reoccurrence if I did not take the AI's.  ibcsupport.org is another place you can get answers as everyone on that board has ibc.

    Hang in there.

    Terri
