I did see my redness go away during chemo, it was so reassuring.  I never got the thickened skin so I had no peeling.  I loved watching the sh*t die  :)

I never had any redness.   In the roughly 2 weeks between DX and starting chemo peau d'orange (orange peel skin) did develope.  Also nipple inverted and breast got a lot larger.  When I saw my PA a week after the node had literally 'blown up' over night, that was the only symptom at the time.  During my 4 DD A/C, as the chemo was getting the IBC to form a lump so surgeon could get it, the peau d'orange went away (no peeling), nipple un-inverted (is that a word?) and as the lump formed, the overall size of breast went back to close to normal.

My TX was a bit different than it seems most have.  I did 4 A/C, then surgery followed by 12 weekly Taxol then rads so I did neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemo.
