Reduced appetite

Options

My mother is stage 4 breast cancer, mets in brain, liver bones and lungs.

She finished her radiotherapy to her brain 9 weeks ago. She has been having chemo since.

She is still struggling to eat much without steroids. Is it likely to still be the radiotherapy or the cancer? Obviously I am terrified it is the disease itself making itself known ...thanks for your thoughts, it s all so worrying. I hate to see her weight loss :(

I think the loss of appetite came before chemo so I am thinking that can't be affecting it.

Radiotherapy is an effective treatment for many cancers, but it can cause side effects. People react differently to radiotherapy.

But these side effects can usually be controlled with the right care and medicine

:I lost all appetite when I started A/C.  Hubby had to call me several times a day to remind me to eat.  That was '09 and still today, I have to remind myself (or get reminded) to eat.  It's not that I don't want to eat - just that I never think about eating/getting hungery.

Don't know if that helps you or not but is my experience.
