Hi Tlew, I have a juicer too but usually do smoothies because I tend to not want to otherwise eat in the AM and we need fiber as well as all the delicious nutrients. I have a little bullet blender from target- so easy to blend and run!
I dont know what is better but that just works for me.
Sharon thanks for the green tea powder tip, I hadn't incorporated these powders into my smoothie regimen but what a great idea. Will do!!! -
Hi Folks,
When I was first diagnosed my husband went online and found out about juicing and supplements. It was all he could do to help me (besides emotional support) and it gave him a purpose in my healing. I started out just kind of humoring him and going along with it to make him happy but I've noticed that I've been feeling better since I started doing it. He got an Omega juicer from Amazon at a lower price (it was a floor model or something) and it's worked out great. We already had a bullet type blender but the juicer is a better option, IMO. It allows you to get a lot more nutriets in and it's easier to drink more of it because it removes all the pulp. Trying to drink all that pulp can make it much more difficult to drink multiple glasses a day (if that is what you choose to do). Personally, I'm only drinking one to two glasses of juice a day but some people want to drink more than that.
I've tried many different "recipes" for juicing but have found that adding some ginger root, a lemon and an apple or two can make just about anything palatable, even broccoli and kale. I live in the LA area and found a service that actually delivers all that you need for your weekly juicing directly to your door. It's a service called Spud.com and most of what they bring is local and organic. I'm sure there are similar services in other large cities.

I most frequently juice (to be honest, an organic juice bar nearby juices it for me -- lucky to have this option):
- Kale, spinach, chard, celery, cucumber, parsley, carrot (daily combo drink - ACQUIRED TASTE)
- Beet/carrot/celery
- Beet/carrot/ginger
- Celery(80%)/carrot
I don't juice most fruits -- think it is counterproductive, and I'd rather eat limited amounts of whole fruit with all their fiber. BUT -- I do indulge in a coconut/raspberry smoothie now and then. Yumm. You can see this prepared at chrisbeatcancer.com and he is right, it is delicious!
