Alphabetical Us: April 2013
Here’s the alphabetical list of all women who responded to the “How Many Are We?” thread started April 8, 2013 where I asked how many stage iv bc.org members we are.
Breast Cancer Topic: How Many Are We?
I welcome any and all corrections. If you don’t see your name, let me know; I’ll add it. Names that start with a number are at the end. For the sake of knowing ‘who we are’ **at this point in time**, if anyone asks, I’ll add anyone who’s been diagnosed as stage iv up till and including April of 2013.
Please don't be upset if your name is not added. The list is not meant to be 'ongoing' but rather a snapshot, if you will, of who was actively seeking information, reading and/or posting to this website up till and including April as a stage iv member.
The list of names gives me a sense of our own little ‘community’ on bc.org. I appreciate that. Visually seeing all these names together does something to me. Can’t put it into words.

Moira and others have said it so beautifully - thank you for your innovation and for all the time you took to compile the list!
-
You worked really hard. Thank-you.

I'm #241 and a newbie, posting for the first time today. (Though I've been lurking a few months.) I hope to become acquainted with many of you. Everyone is so positive and supportive. Even when the news is bad, I always feel better after checking in here.

hugs, Ebru -
MrsM, thanks for doing this. We are scattered across other threads, and since I have only recently joined this group, I don't know as many women here, but do recognize a few names. The other thing about us is that there is much less consistency in our treatment protocols than there are for "early stage" where there have been studies to help guide best options. Many of us are going with "best guess", "trial and error", and I am feeling like a walking physiology experiment, which I am sure many of you can empathize with. So we bounce from thread to thread, sharing knowledge and support, so it is really great to have one site with everyone's names to refer to. Thanks again, and peace to all.
-
Thanks so much. I appreciate your doing this for us.
-
Thank you! This was a great experience watching everyone come out and join the thread. Thank you for having the idea and carrying it out!
-
Thank you. I have to admit, though, that the BCO boards overwhelm me. I didn't participate much with my original diagnosis and I don't know how to manage the boards with my Stage IV diagnosis. There's so much going on everywhere. What's the best way to participate? Is there a way to take the list to a Facebook page or something like that?
On a side note . . . my Friday scans showed no new cancer! I'll get a detailed report tomorrow after seeing the neurosurgeon about the C4 fracture that's healing.
-
Thank You, thank you for all your time and effort, it is so nice to see all the women joined together!
-
Powerful....we are not alone... thank you
-
Quite a little community within a community! Each of us making the best of the hand we have been dealt.
Wouldn't it be amazing to actually "meet" all in one place?
Thank you Mrs M for bringing us together here in the virtual world.
-
What started as a simple question.....turned into so much more! Thank you
-
Thank you!
-
Craftylass,
Yes, this is a very large discussion board. One thing that has helped me is to "favorite" the threads I'm most interested in. I remove them if a long period goes by without activity and just cruise the stage IV forum for anything new. If I have a specific concern, I use the search function to see if a thread exists on the topic. Glad you've joined us.
Caryn -
Mrs M,
Just another "thank you" for your work in compiling this list. I realize it is a club that no one wants to join, but when I see the names it comforts me in knowing that I'm not alone. So, thank you for asking the question that some of us have wondered about, and another thank-you to JoyE1947 for coming up with the idea of putting a number next to her name ... and it took off from there!
Diane
