to tamoxifen or not to tamoxifen

I am stage 1 micro. My oncologist has left the decision to take tamoxifen up to me. My invasive cancer was actually removed during the needle biopsy as my mastectomy had no evidence of invasive cells. I also had a second tumor that was in situ. Not sure what to do! Anyone else out there struggling with this dilemma?

I was given my prescription 11 days ago. I have not went to pick it up. I decided to wait 30 days to enjoy and heal before picking it up. The decision is not an easy one. I have decided to try it and see how I feel, I see many women on it with no problems. I figure if I am miserable on it at least I know I tried. If I have no problems with it and it helps prolong my life or it returning it will have been worth it.

Hope you can come to a decision, I know its tough.

I am taking tamoxifen prior to bmx. I've been on it about 4 months now. The side effects really lessened after about two months. Now I just take it at bedtime ... Basically no big deal. I will take it 5 years after surgery. Good lck with your decision.
