Rib tenderness after rads

    Hi ladies,

This is not a new sensation for me, I'd just like to know if I'm not alone. I'm 2.5 yrs. out from rads -- 35+ boosts -- also had a lumpectomy and then mastectomy of that breast. I still have soreness/tenderness under the breast along the bra line. I don't notice it all the time, but certainly when I press on the area doing a breast exam or when it's compressed when I'm bending over. Anyone else still having issues?

    TIA

    Rachel

not sure this is the same but, I am almost 5 years out from diagnosis and 4+ years from end of rads.

times my rib feels like it is broken!  even had it xrayd once as it hurt so bad

it comes and goes and the muscle is crampie at times?

    I just live with it~~

Thanks, proudtospin. Glad to know I'm not alone. I get bad muscle cramps from the node dissection down my breast. It happens when I'm stressed.

I'm only 8 months out from Rads, but I have that rib pain.  I was terrified it was something else at first.

Then I started observing more.  I realized the way I was getting out of my 4 poster bed trying not to use

my LE arm was contributing to the problem.   And it does come and go.

Yes, some rib pain, here, too. It's on the radiated side so I've always chalked it up to something from all the surgery and radiation. I'm over 3 years from the end of all that (delayed recon was January 2010), and I know I still have a few spots of fat necrosis that are slowly dissolving, so why not a few spots of left over pain?

One thing I noticed is when I have greater pain in other areas (o-o-o those aging knees of mine), it doesn't seem to bother me at all.

    HI Nancy,

Thanks for responding. Funny how that works with knees. I've got bad knees and an elbow that's killing me, but I don't automatically go to the "c" word.
