never told mom about LE

OK if anyone was on here back when I was first dxed I really didn't tell my mom untill a few weeks before surgery. (Konacat was the same way. ) So I am going to see madre for the first time since then, um, guess what I have never mentioned.

yeah it starts with L and ends with edema.

I never wanted her to take in how awful this is, other side of the family members seem to get really upset seeing me in the sleeve, it's like I didn't get better or something. We are only staying with her for one night, and if I wear really long sleeves and liquor her up maybe she won't notice. But you are only as sick as your secrets right?

Cookie, we're all entitled to our secrets, and the reasons for keeping them are complicated and hugely personal. Some day you may have to spend more time with your mom, and then there will be questions. But if you want to avoid them now and you can figure a way to do it without damaging yourself, please don't feel guilty about it--much less "sick."

Cookie, if the thought of explaining to your Mom is making you uncomfortable and you are able to keep your LE issues 'under wraps' so to speak, you'll likely have an easier time during your short stay with her.  Hugs and good luck.
