High serum B12, high CEA - anyone know if this is significant?

I just got off the phone with my BS. Before my PBMX last month she ran bloodwork (feb 21) and I got results yesterday that showed my CEA was up from 3.1 (1.5 years ago) to 8.1 last month. My CA 15-3 was down from 8 last year to 7.

Last summer (Aug) my GP did a B12 serum that was 1005 ( normal was 165-829). When you look this up on the Internet it says some pretty nasty stuff. I finished chem Jan 2012 and rads at end of March 2012. Could serum B12 level be up because of treatment?

My BS doesn't seem concerned she said she would run another CEA on me this month. Has anyone had this happen (high B12 and CEA) and if yes what was the outcome?
I also forgot to mention I had some cysts in my liver at diagnosis that were thought to be B9 hemangiomas. They were followed up by 2 MRI's ( one during treatment - Nov 2011 and one during radiation -Mar 2012) which showed no changes or no eveidence of malignancies.Thanks.

Do you smoke?  Smokers have higher CEA levels.

Did you fast prior to the test?  I don't think it would affect the CEA but it could skew the B-12.

I had high b 12 levels 1800. Oncologist wasn't concerned _I have been fine. It was 1 1/2 yrs ago. Good luck

Well I don't smoke, so that doesn't apply. And yes it was a fasting blood test for the B12. Fasting impacts B12 serum levels?
