TE removal 2nd time... Still hope?

Options

Due to infection I have to have my TE removed for a second time in less than 2 weeks. Chemo now delayed for 3 weeks. After Chemo is there still hope of getting a breast? Anyone ever been through this?

    Hi Irene,

Sorry you've had these difficulties. You should probably post your question on the Reconstruction forum. This forum is for women who have chosen not to have reconstruction, so it's unlikely that most women who check out the posts here have been through this.

From having been on these Discussion Boards for quite a while, though, I do think that it will be possible for you to have reconstruction after chemo, but you may need to consider an autologous flap (making a breast using your own tissue).

    Best of luck,

    Barbara

Please see the surgery list at the TE Trouble thread linked below - many of us have successfully reconstructed after challenges, and TE removals.
