DIM Estrogen Blood tests.

Hi all,

I am considering starting on DIM again for estrogen dominance and know some of you ladies have been using DIM for years. Have any of you had blood tests for estrogen levels before starting DIM or after?

Hi Cleomoon,

I started on 13C in December 2012 and added DIM in Feb 2013 (as I did not know about it before).  I took a 24hr urine sample based estrogen metabolism test 3 weeks ago, so I have some kind of a baseline.  I am helped by a nutritionist and herbalist and have fine-tuned my supplements - that really depends on the outcome of your results.  I opted for the comprehensive test, which showed a problem with the stage 2 detoxification process in my liver, which does not neutralise / convert estrogen and my body reabsorbs it.  I will repeat the test in July, to see whether there is any improvement.  If not, I will have to rethink.   All I can say, make sure you get a good professional on your side.  It took me a while to find someone I feel comfortable with,  and someone who I can afford!  I hope this helps.

Hi lookinglass, Thank u for replying. What tests were included in ur comprehensive test? I am having bloodwork drawn on Fri to ck hormones etc. Should I fast before these tests?

I have just been your reply, not beenon these boards for a while.  I had just the one test done - oestrogen metgabolism. I did not have to fast, as mine was a 24 hour urine sample test.  I am planning to repeat the test this month.  Hope your results will be ok.
