I turn 58 years old tomorrow!

Options

I am having a birthday tomorrow. I used to dread them because it signified getting older and all that comes with that...the aches and pains, the sagging of body parts, the wrinkles and laugh lines. Now that I have been diagnosed with BC, I have never been so happy to celebrate a birthday!

I want to wish ALL of us "middle-agers" a happy year and a Happy Birthday, no matter when you will celebrate yours.

Life is indeed wonderful, no? Smile

Hoping you ALL have a fabulous year!

Happy birthday. I know what you mean. I was dx at 56 (5years ago) and initially thought that I wouldn't see another birthday, so I'm happy (sort of) to be 61. Live is good (again).......but I wish I was younger!!

I agree with you -- every birthday is a celebration for us!

Celebrating my birthday became very important to me, but doing something very active was significant for me as well -- I was showing cancer it couldn't keep me down!

I started celebrating each birthday after my diagnosis with something BIG! The first year after dx, DH & I did a walking tour in Tuscany -- something I had always wanted to do. That was only 6 weeks after completing radiation and I was still on weekly Herceptin treatments (Dr. gave me a leave of absence for the 2-week trip to Italy). Don't know what I was waiting for (before cancer), but travel became very important to me. And I incorporated my birthday most years when I could. On my 3rd year anniversary after my dx, we hiked the Inca Trail -- timed so that I arrived at Machu Picchu on the morning of my 60th birthday!

Congratulations on your birthday. Here's to many more!
