aching thigh bone worse at night

Options

Hi there. I have been having aches in my thighs (left worse than right) for about 3 months now. Worried they could be bone mets. The aches wakes me up at night, usually about 4AM, and improves during the day. Have been to doc and had blood tests and an x-ray, both of which were normal, but going back to onc on Monday for further tests. Had a bone scan 6mths ago which was clear and a clear whole body MRI around the same time. I was dx on 17/5/2011 with lobular HR+ 5CM tumour, extensive DCIS and 11 out of 12 lymph nodes involved. Had a mastectomy and they found two smaller tumours in same breast, both less than 1CM. Had 3 rounds of FEC-T and Taxotere + 5 wks radiotherapy. Am on Tamoxifen and wondered whether it could be a side effect? Any feedback gratefully appreciated!

    Hi Misty,

No one will likely see this question in this part of the forum. I am including a link to the stage 4 forum where you may have a response that could be helpful. I will keep you in my thoughts that it is not mets!

Hi Misty, sorry that you're going through this.  I don't know much about bone mets but do know bone pain, especially bilateral can be caused from other things like disc issues.  I had a very bad herniated disc, that placed pressure on my nerves in spinal cord. The pain caused by that was awful.

I now get injections in my spinal cord which help control the pain.

It sounds like your doctors are looking into things so that's good. HOping for a benign cause.

    Keep us posted.
