I am 2 years out from chemo and I still have no energy.  All I want to do is sleep.  Am I ever going to feel "normal" again.  I am always afraid that I am going to get sick again.  Bruises never seem to go away.  Just kind of freaked.  I am sick of being afraid and tired.  Feel alone in this cause I don't want to seem like a worry wort to my family.

Also, since chemo/MRSA my normal temp went from 98.5 to 96.5.  Even if I am sick I never register a temp.  Has anyone else had that happen?

down - so sorry you are feeling this way. I can't help on the temperature question.

Have you had a recent check-up with your GP? While the effects of treatment can linger for months, even years, 2 years seems like a long time to have no energy. There may be some other physical or psychological explanation... perhaps he/she could point you to a solution? Hugs and best wishes.

    downinnc,

If you are feeling progressively better, that is good.  For some of us, it takes a long time to feel as strong as we did before, or to have the stamina we had before.  It took me four years to be able to do every last thing I did before just as well as before and for as many hours a day or a week as before, and to feel like cancer never even happened.  It's a process.

At two years out, I felt was still sleeping a little too much, resting a little too much and not quite up to speed at work.  Anemia can be a problem after chemo and radiation, so look into that because bruising is a sign of that.  Also, treatment can tap you out of vitamins and minerals, so be sure to take a supplement and vitamin D if your doc approves that.  Get your sleep and conserve your energy as you build yourself back up.  Eat properly.  The idea of shedding those few extra pounds that have a way of showing up after treatment can be compelling, but no one should diet while trying to get healthy.

You feel that you don't yet feel "normal," but for a lot of us our normal is close to superhuman.  And if you had MRSA too, you've had another speed bump to navigate.  That is a killer as well.  If you conquered TNBC and MRSA and feel tired, well, congratulations!  You are a winner!  You are alive!  I almost lost my stepmom to MRSA and my Dad as well.  That is not a nice thing.  Going forward, know that you are strong.
