Hi Guys

I'm hoping to get back to triathlon post bilateral mastectomy etc. I'm trying to decide whether to have nipple reconstruction (not helped by radiotx to one side) or whether to just settle with 3d tattoos. My question to you active ladies is, of those of you who have had nipple reconstruction, did you find it problematic with running? Did it rub on your sports bra or bleed? Did it flatten out excessively? Also, how long did you have to wait post reconstruction before you were allowed to run again?

Thanks

I had nipples and also areola grafts.  I was able to exercise again in about a week.  THe areola grafts took a long time to heal but I just kept gauze on them.  My nipples did flatten a lot but they are still there a little.  If I wear a t-shirt with no bra, you can see them a little but if I put a jog bra on you can't see them through. I don't do triathlons but I do teach aerobics and run 6 miles a few days a week with no issues.

I have 3D nip tattoos by Vinnie Myers and I love them.  It was not "settling" at all - I actively chose them for 2 reasons - to save myself a surgery and to avoid having "headlights on" all the time.  And you can run right after having the nip tattoos - no waiting period.
