Minoxidil for eyebrows?

Options

I've been eyebrow-less for going on seven years. I've tried a couple of topical treatments to try to grow them back in the last few years, with no success. I've recently met with a dermatologist for another reason and in conversation it came up that I could try minoxidil on my eyebrow line to grow them back. I got the prescription filled, but have been kind of scared to use it in that area. Has anyone tried this successfully?

I use the OTC women's on my eyebrows because I noticed they were getting thinner (from Anastrozole probably). I've has some growth but no more shedding. I use it once a day. Just be sure that it is only on your eyebrows. Don't let it drip. So far no beard.

But I also use it on my head… did before diagnosis because I was receding. Initially I used the men's 2X a day. I noticed too much hair growth on my face, although it was blond so I switched to women's. I only use the women's 1X a day. I'm sure I'd have better success if I used it 2x a day as directed.

Thanks for the info lago. No beard....LOL!! It's not available OTC where I live so I got prescribed the 5% solution. I remember when I was in to see the doc, she told me about 2% for women and 5% for men, but she thought I'd be better off with the stronger solution because there's no hair there....none. I hope she's right. This is going to sound like a stupid question, but did you grow to much hair on your face from the men's solution because it got on your face, or did it just happen? Think I might need to ask for the weaker solution before proceeding. It's really expensive here. Do you mind me asking what you pay OTC for a month's supply?

I purchase it at Walgreens. I use the generic (their brand). Typically I purchase a 3 month supply on sale. Here's the link to the women's: linky  When it's on sale it can be $20-$30! sometimes the monthly supply goes on sale too. I believe the men's is the same price. Same active ingreadiant as Rogaine.

Yes I did experience it on my face with the men's but remember I was putting it on my head and a lot more than what you are using for eyebrows. It was blond though but it was growing longish and noticeable. This does not happen to everyone one. My mom didn't have the issue. She has the same receding as I do.

Thanks for all the info lago. I appreciate it. Going for it with the 5% and I'll see what happens. Yikes, the price difference. I paid 76.00 for a one month supply! I'll have to do some digging on line to see if I can order it from the U.S. Thanks again.

gracie Walmart might be even less expensive. I know Costco out here sells it too pretty cheaply for men (Kirland brand). The name brand is Rogaine. at 5% for men. It's $50 (US) for a 3 month supply on their site but usually less elseware.

$76 a month is crazy. Cheaper OTC here in the US.

I use the generic too for a thinning spot on the back of my head. It is Walmart's Equate brand - $19.99 for a 3-month supply.

Hi Lago! Hope you are well!! I too only use it once a day when I probably should be using it twice!
