I was just diagnosed with Spindle Cell Carcinoma which is a Metaplastic Carcinoma.  I haven't been able to find much about this kind of cancer so I was wondering if there is anyone here that has had this diagnosis.

    Iragna,

I dont know if this will help. But my Mom did almost 18 years ago (she is 80 now) and still kickin. Her breast cancer was ductal, ilc insitu and spindle cell.  A tumor board reviewed her case and it was sent out to the army lab at the time. I guess back then it was very unusual. She did surgery and chemo and remains on evista even today.  My cancer was different, but I thought this helps you some.  take care,

    CR

my friend was also diagnosed with spindle cell ca. Had a double mastectomy, but another tumor appeared on her side, it was removed today. However, pet scan showed several tumors in her lung. What is a tumor board?  She just had appts at Fox Chase and U of Penna. They concur with her surgeon at Bryn Mawr Hospital. She is going to Sloan Kettering in the next week. Any advice?  Whom should she contact??

But I still wanted to stop by to share this link below that contains 39790 scientific articles of Spindle Cell Carcinoma of the breast that I hope those who visit your thread will find informative and useful to them too.

In the meantime, if you are interested to find out if there are immunotherapy treatment being used to treat  this disease, please consider visiting and/or write to the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer(SITU) to find out if they have begun using immunotherapy to treat Spindle Cell Carcinoma, and perhaps even request to be put on their mailing list to keep you updated of any new developments?  Here's their link:

    P.S.

Below is a VIDEO link discussing the use of immunotherapy in various cancer treatment (current hot cancer treatment topic). Fascinating to watch and good to know.
