Does a Skin Biopsy always show IBC?

Hi all -

So saw the surgeon yesterday and she did a skin biopsy to rule out IBC - waiting for results.  But I thought I read that sometimes the skin biopsy does not show IBC.  Is that possible?
Thanks
Karyn

So the biopsy came back benign.  The surgeon (who is the director of a breast center) said that it could be post menopausal mastitis and is sending me back to my GYN for a possible hormonal treatment.  I am still pink and in pain and now scared that we may just consider it to be something else because the first biopsy came back negative.

But I guess it is worth a try. I mean she may be right because it has been a month and it has only spread a tiny bit.  From what I am reading in a months time, it should have spread much more so maybe it is just hormones.  In one breast.  Causing pain and redness in one breast.  I guess.
