Chemo is over

Options

The chemical warfare...is over..

6 months... 16 treatments.

The chemo worked... reversed the advancing enemy ...

The Tumor had taken over 4 cm of my breast , it now has less then 1 cm..

its good to know it worked...

Hopefully ALL errant cancer cells are erradicated ..

The last few weeks have been very hard... a trip to the emergency alleviated are fears..

Lumbar tests, and ct scans assured us there was no infections or meningitis

I'm told to expect atleast 2 weeks before i start to feel better

But its good to know.. that my body is no longer a toxic waste dump....

I will miss the friends i made in the treatment rooms

The nurses are some of th best i have seen in my life..

I will never forget the dedication and care..

As they attached the port for the last time... ofcourse there was no blood return , so we had to do a rtpa treatment... 30 minutes after when they tested the blood return... all nurses present and in the area let out a... YAY... as we saw the blood return and knew my last treatment could get started. ...Many nurses and patients also wore purple that day in honor of the purple happy button team)

The patients..... 18 to 80... are some of the bravest ppl i have ever met..we exchanged emails.. made plans

I brought flowers... gave out purple happy buttons and made cards.

I had a bag of petals to throw in the air outside the hospital...

6 months... 16 treatments..

The end didnt come soon enough...but it came..

Now... the surgical strike..

I meet with the surgeon on monday and will share when i can

I would also like to share.. that our friend , companion, and dog .. died february 27th , and will be missed by many . Thank to all the ones who cared and prayed for her

    Celineflower,

First, congrats on your finishing chemo! Certainly a reason to celebrate (when you're feeling up to it!)!

But we are so sad to hear the news of your poor pup! (((Hugs)))

Keep us posted with how the meeting goes on Monday...

Congratulations! You are done with the hardest part of this journey! I am right behind you, finishing chemo on. Monday, March 11. Cannot wait until the week after when I will be free of most of the SEs. Then normal life for three weeks before the double mastectomy and reconstruction...

Again, I'm so happy for you!
