Extreme itching

I have experienced extreme itching sensations in my under arm and side area where I had my lymph node disection.  Sometimes the itching just drives me insane.  I have little to no touch sensation there.  It is completely numb.  The itching cannot be relieved with rubbing and scratching does no good because I cannot feel it.  Arrghhh!

    Geocachelinda I think you will find that the itching is caused be nerve ending healing. I know it is really annoying and I don't have any suggestions to relieve it other than to say when it stops you will have some feeling back in that area.

    When I get those feeling I scratch with a dry towel over the areas. See if that helps.

    Hi there, Yes, this is part of the healing process in the nerve endings. It drove me crazy too. Sometimes,  rubbing the area helps. It will come and go for quite a while. Just be patient with it.
