Chemopause - Permanent and now Hair Loss - Help

Options

Hi, I was perimenopausal - just - at the time of diagnosis and chemo and tamoxifen seem to have completed that process.  I am stoically dealign ith all the other side effects, many unpleasant, BUT the hair loss, I can't take.  What have you done if this is you?  I understand that the shampoos (thickening etc.) are all hogwash but what about other treatments - prescription or non-prescription?  Minoxidil/Rogaine, Propecia Spironolactone?  Anything else?  Any results?

Thank you!

Hi honey, Are you going thru Chemotherapy now? If you are, its best not too use any chemicals right now due too your Chemo. If your Chemo is finished, you can try maybe Rogaine. Of course, I never used any chemicals or treatments. I just stayed bald until it grew back. Stay bald honey. Bald is beautiful!

Hi, yup. I'm done with surgeries chemo and rads. Soon will be 6 months since last active treatment. This is not chemo caused balding. My hair was beginning to grow back normally, had covered my head and then began to thin out in a male receding hairline fashion. Any suggestions.

HVV I had this receding too before chemo. I do use minoxidil (women's). It has helped and also slowed down the growth. I recommend though that you find a dermatologist that deals with hair loss, ideally with women. Yours could be related to a thyroid problem or just from surgeries.
