Wow, such an old post and I'd never seen it before. It brought tears to my eyes! I'm one of those that has no real support from family; just a few good friends (although that is super important and it is wonderful), so it meant a lot to me. Thank you so, so much old poster!

Colt45...thank you for starting this open letter forum and bumping it to keep it active. I've been visiting the boards since my diagnosis in 2012 and your stories, support, and kind words have been a source of comfort - thank you and sending my continued blessings and good wishes to you and your wife. Maureen1, thank you. You were diagnosed a little before my wife was. Your courage and support has always been like a beacon of hope for us. I remember our first days and my early times here. I was immediately drawn to you and several other ladies—who were the inspiration for much of this Open Letter. Prayers of continued good health to you and best wishes for your loved ones

colt45…Thank you so much for sharing!!! This letter is beautiful! It’s exactly what I needed to read today and I’m sure it has been for many women reading this before me.! Wishing you and your family all the best

EminGA2018,

Colt45 and all- Beautiful words to start this and i did tear up. To have a husband to share this journey with is such a blessing. To have my 2 sisters and friends i can count on is my blessing. To not do it alone. To ask for help. To know that blogs like these will help you get in touch with those on this path. Provide love, wisdom and advice on what works for them. To believe that their is a power greater than ourselves beneath all that goes on. I was led to the City of Hope through a Doctors referral and my option to get in a genetic study had changed my 4 infusions over 12 weeks to 12 in 12 weeks due to the gene found. With every diagnosis, i come here to find all of you. What did you do? Today I looked and found a caregiver posting. God Bless you for loving your wife and all women.

Colt45,
What a beautiful post. I am glad to have read it today.
I do not know what it is to be let down for support from my spouse or family. I did not consider others may have had an experience like that. Thank you for opening me up to that.
Love...
