Study: Approximately 30 Percent Of Chemotherapies Are Prescribed Off-Label.

Reuters (2/20, Seaman) reports that, according to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, approximately 30 percent of chemotherapies are prescribed off-label. Investigators came to this conclusion after looking at information from a prescription database. The researchers could not determine, however, whether off-label prescriptions were linked to better or worse patient outcomes.
