When it spreads to the other breast.

When it spreads to the other breast and other parts of the body, is the original chemo plan enough? I'm on ACT. But, I was told there is cancer in my other breeast. What if it is another form of breast cancer? Should it be treated with a different chemo? should it be tested?

I had two "forms" of breast cancer as well.  I've heard recently that IBC is not actually a disease in itself but rather a super-hyped symptomatic pathway of many cancers whose primary sites may be microscopial and therefore "no lump".  I do NOT know that as a fact, nor does anyone I think, it's just a leading theory.

So, there's a chance the cancer in your other breast was actually the same cancer acting in a different pathway, and the treatment is appropriate.  Either way, whether its different or the same, it seems the best idea to control the IBC first.  But these are excellent questions for your doctors - I like to write questions down myself before visits because my brain tends to mush up on the actual visit.
