Supraclavicular lymph node?

Options

I am posting on behalf of my mom as we sit here together.. Here is the story. Can anyone give opinions?

Age 52 dx with stage 2b ILC. 0/3 nodes er/pr+ her2-

several small invasive areas do the surgeons combined them all together after right mast to be 7cm total.

(largest single area of invasive was like 1.2cm)

Clean margins

Oncotype 12-no chemo

33 rads done.

Just started femara last week

Ovary removal surgery done couple months ago.

No vascular invasion

We saw the med onc three weeks ago. All was going well and she palpated a possible left supraclavicular lymph node.. Soft, very movable and slightly painful when manipulated. She stated it felt "really benign" but she doesn't want to ignore it so we will see her back in three weeks, being this coming ties 2/19...

She said that may be even a little soon because nodes from infection take a long time to go down...

We may need to ultrasound.

I'm scared it's cancer.. But it doesn't seem very common for the cancer to travel there and not other lymph nodes first... No positiv nodes at surgery, clean margins, and no LVI seem like good things. Can it be cancer? The mode is very soft, and cancerous nodes tend to be hard and non tender. Any info, opinions?

Anything is very much appreciated.

Thank you!!

    Hi Angelfaith

Sorry no one has responded to you yet.

I don't have much to offer except that it would be good to know the grade of cancer. 1 is relatively slow growing and 3 is fast. If it were 1 I would be tempted to wait it out with regular checks and hope its just an infection. If it is higher i would want to sort it out sooner. I don't know if they can do a needle biopsy on it or whether the whole thing can be removed to test it. Remember you can always seek a second opinion if you are not sure about your oncologist's recommendation.

Hopefully others will respond soon with more advice.

It is a very scary time for you and I'm sorry you have to go through this. Time is the best healer. Things will look brighter.

    All the best
