HI, I am a nursing student who is currently completing my Public Health rotation.  A local High school teacher contacted us to come and discuss breast cancer awareness with her students.  The students would like to spread awareness within the school and need some guidance. They were hoping to have materials to hand out and would love to have models for demonstration purposes and for examples of lumps/nodes/growth ect.  I am not sure where to start to help them on this path.  I know that they have very limited funds and the models can be quite expensive.  I find it very exciting that these young girls want to help and educated their fellow students regarding breast cancer.  If there is a resource that we can contact for free handouts, pamphlets, and models for youth education, the information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

Shannon

Shannon, Breastcancer.org has brochures and booklets available by mail, as well as for download. See more information about ordering copies at the link.

You may also want to check with your local women's health clinic or hospital's breast screening program to see if they have an outreach program that could provide a speaker and demonstration materials.
