New spot on remaining breast

Hi ladies! I have a question I'm hoping someone out there can answer...I was diagnosed with IBC 4 years ago- went through all the usual treatment- chemo, UMX, rads. Although I also have brain and liver mets my remaining breast has been fine. My initial symptoms were bruising and redness. Now, I've had a light brownish discoloration - about the size of a dime- on my remaining breast. I'm not on great terms with my oncologist unfortunately but I know I probably need to call...

My question is have you had local recurrence and were the symptoms similar? Has anyone had skin mets? I feel like the appearance is different than my first time but still, it's there, and no getting better. It's not raised or rashy or itchy.

Good or bad I'm not one to panic and try to rule out oher causes and don't automatically think cancer. But still.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Thanks for the response Bon! I guess it wasn't much of a question that I posted, but it would be very good for me to hook up with the ladies you mentioned with local recurrence. Thanks again!!

Dutchie, I have skin mets although I'm IDC rather than IBC. Mine are like hard rubbery lumps and turn from skin coloured to red when they have been there a while. I know skin mets can present differently but from your description what you have isn't the same. Hope you've had a it checked out by now anyway as always better to have peace of mind even if it's nothing significant.

Thank you gail5! I did have it checked out and it was ok thank goodness- it was bruising but unlike my bruising with the IBC it was just from getting hurt. It's embarrassing but when you find a small bruise that turns into stage 4 cancer it gets you nervous when it happens again!

Thanks for your answer, really! Just felt good to be acknowledged.

    Hope you are well.
