Newly diagnosed from breast cancer to bone mets and beyond!
Ahhh the humanity of it all.....such a great 4 years, ( original diagnosis 4/2008) all going well in life and health and then BOOM. My bone mets were found during my routine MRI. I am sad, mad and defiant all at once. I want to live, I want to fight, I want to keep laughing, loving, and being strong. Mainly I want to take care of my wonderful family, they feel so bad. I am strong, but in a bit of shock.....made the mistake of telling a co-worker of this new chapter, and while my boss is super supportive, I scared the living day lights out of this person who insisted on knowing the stage it was.....probably should have re thought that move, they crossed themselves and started crying....YIKES. Started chemo last week, Halaven, another concoction will be added this week, no complaints at the moment. Looking for any sage advice any may have on how to navigate the waters. Has anyone tried hypnosis and visualization along with traditional therapy? I want to reduce, shrink, HELL get rid of these cells once and for all. Still doing exercise, seems counter intuitive but I feel much better afterwards, Pilates reformer a definite plus.

I don't have any advice, but just wanted to wish you well!!!! Your attitude is inspiring!
I'm just beginning this journey myself and I still have a long way to go...but I'm inspired by your positive attitude. I just finished my chemo, and I go in for an MRI scan this week. I'm really nervous because there was a spot on my rib when this began, but they just decided to "watch" it.
Wishing for you courage, stength and HEALTH!!

Hi Nineteen
I am so sorry you are going through this.
My diagnosis is not the same as yours, but I'm sure there will be other ladies on here soon to chat. There are a number of girls who have lived well with bone mets for years.
You could introduce yourself on the Stage iv thread, i know its scary but they are such a wonderful group of ladies there, you will feel supported and inspired. you could also check out the bone mets sisters thread.
Things will feel better with time. Time is truly the best healer. I hope your treatment is easy to tolerate and that it kicks that cancer's butt.
With best wishes,

I am very sorry you are diagnosed with mets. I don't have any sage advice, but I wanted to wish you well in your journey. We are all here for you and here to offer support or whatever you may need. Lean on your family, be strong for yourself, but don't be afraid to take help when it's offered, it can be a huge lifesaver in terms of cleaning/cooking, whatever the case may be. People want to help. Keep exercising and keep feeling alive, because you are

Thank you all, so kind, still trying to navigate, evidently my once hormone sensitive cancer has morphed into not hormone sensitive, at least just 1% sensitive, so my oncologist says this may change when/ if we get it under control, sometimes it turns back to hormone sensitive ....pretty wild and crafty these cancer cells. Evidently bone mets are tricky this way. Have completed 4 rounds of Eribulin/Halaven, two more to go, had blood work taken for cancer markers.....certainly a new part time job.....it's a journey...starting to laugh about some aspects however......my strange humor helps....plus I was the lucky recipient of a lost 10 dollar bill yesterday, just as I was walking into Baskin Robbins for a scoop of pralines and cream after my infusion with my husband! Yahoo! There is was on the cement not a sole in sight, so glad I didn't go to the frozen yogurt shop🎉I love San Francisco! The new Bay bridge lights are gorgeous.
