Having trouble having sex, any ideas

Options

I had stage 2b almost made 5 years and now Stage 4, her2 positive, bone mets. Had chemo first time, hysterecectomy, then radiation, Herceptin , zometa, and falsofex shots every month. When my husband and I try to have sex it feels like I'm in fire and is extremely painful. Used lubricants but doesn't help. Am I the only one out there with this problem. Only married 10 months before first diagnosis so things haven't been so great for us in the bedroom. I have alot of lower back pain now and after those shots it hurts to walk and I just want to sleep. I have no desire for sex either as I am hormone depleted. Any advice out there? I am only 50 and hate what this cancer has done to me

    Hi There,

I've not had the problems you are having but there is a thread on here somewhere with lots of advice on helping with this.

It is quite common and just one more thing we have to deal with. The low sex drive is due to the estrogen depletion and of course the stress of what our bodies and minds have gone though.

I know that "scream cream' is highly recommended but you have to get the right one. Plus coconut oil I think. Trying to remember this off the top of my head so check when you find the right thread. think it is called "Yippee,Solution to painful intercourse".

It's one of those things that we don't like to bring out in the open but it does affect a lot of women. I read the thread as I worried I might need help but I'm ok apart from having to work up the enthusiasm for sex. I'm only 50 too so know that I do still want to have  sex life but really it's something I truly need anymore. I still like when it happens though so keep on trying is the answer. But it shouldn't be painful.

Hope you get more answers here or you find the thread, it really did have lots of different advice.

Ok, went and found the thread and it's cocoa butter, not coconut oil. Probably best not to use that. Sorry, was just trying to remember.

The thread is very long and has a lot of to-ing and fro-ing on it but I'm sure it will be helpful.

Thread is under the stage 4 forum heading.

Coconut oil works well too. It's thinner and easier.

There are some similar threads as the one you have started and that's a good thing.

Scream Cream is mixed at a compounding pharmacy. The exact site can be found on websites here.

    I use Vagifem .
