Great DVDs about nutrition

Options

The Teaching Company has Nutrition Made Clear on sale until Feb. 7.

A registered dietician with 30 years of experience presents information on almost all nutrition and her information is science-based.

I am looking for a nutritionist that focuses on Cancer nutrition, but so far have not found one. The SE DVDs are my temporary guide.

Great to watch whe n you are recovering from surgery.

American Institute of Cancer Research (AICR) offers the best one that I know. Good research-based info. They offer a number of other resources and lots of information on their website in addition to the DVD: http://www.aicr.org/

Most comprehensive cancer clinics (university based or otherwise) will have a Registered Dietitian that offers the kind of counseling you are describing. My breast surgeon included information on the nutrition services in the materials he gave me at my first visit. Where I live the services are free whether you are seen in the hospital clinic where she works (I was seeing a BS outside her clinic).

This week, I was seeing a geneticist at the NCI designated cancer research in my state and the RD came in as part of my visit. I'm pretty knowlegable about nutrition but she had good new information on alcohol and risk of recurrence which was something I had been been wondering about.

Golden, thanks for this resource. I ordered the DVDs from aicr today.

My set of DVDs focuses mostly on nutrition in general; there is a 30 minute segment relating specifically to cancer but I haven't gotten that far in watching. I wanted to start with the more basic information on nutrition since until this camcer I've never been that interested. Now I am avidly interested.

So, again thanks for suggesting aircr as a resource!
