For those people who have avoided Hathaway yoga, most of the beginning or intruction DVDs may do more harm than good. For example, in using of Patricia Walden' s introductory DVD I pulled a hamstring muscle (this was before cancer).

The best DVD pre surgery is the first 20 minute hatha yoga segment of "Meditation for Beginners" by Maritza..

(The other two twenty minute segments are the body scan--very relaxing, and guided meditation. I am not a meditator so the third segment is the least useful to me.)

I have used this DVD for several years and now that I'm off AC I have been able to get back to doing the first 20 minute Hath yoga part and am pleased to see that although I lost muscle during AC because of severe SEs. Taxol is being kinder to me.

There are too many arms-over-head parts for post-surger until your bs and ps give permission for upper body stretches with arm-over-head exercises. Even then I would go very carefully about these stretches.
