Breast changes and waiting

Options

Well tomorrow is the day I find out more.  My oncologist noticed a couple of months ago that my breast felt different, my gyn noticed this month and has sent me to the surgeon who did my lumpectomy.  What really freaked me out is my skin doc also said I needed to get things checked out.  When doing an exam, my breast has a divit in it where it didn't before and it appears wrinkly, dimpled.  It is almost like my breast is disintegrating.  I am 4 years post surgery/rads and most docs would always remark what a great job he did.

My surgeon has been away and I finally go in tomorrow.  Everything I read about recurrence notes breast changes are a symptom.

dang, I suppose that a biopsy will be the least of my issues coming up.  any thoughts while I freak out?

so an update.  I am scheduled for another mammo, an ultrasound and a biopsy today.  The doc said he's not too excited about it, but then I spoke to a friend who said he told her that about her 6cm lump - it's just his way.  If they are not successful with the sono or mammo biopsy he will do an excisional.  Can't say I am too excited about that, but I did read a thread last night on that and it certainly sounds like the right thing to do.

He got right on the phone with the main radiologist and they looked at my mammograms together so he could best proceed, a great guy.

and Celine, I love your Dr. Suess quote.  It is getting me through this.  thanks so much for sharing.

well had a mammo and a sonogram, but no biopsy - will have to see what the doc says if I need an excisional or not.
