Hi Rzxcd. I was just about to post a question about graviola. My brother was told that graviola will kill breast cancer. I have never heard of it. What do you know about it?

Ladies has anyone ever taken graviola?

It is a lovely tasting fruit and makes nice juice and ice cream. As lovely as it is, it doesn't kill cancer.

One of the women in our group with stable disease five years past chemo tried graviola. I don't know the brand but I believe the graviola was from South America. The graviola juice lowered her tumor markers. Her onc was so impressed that he said to save the graviola for an emergency.

I take graviola in a capsule form from my naturalist.  On my last scan (biofeedback scan), the cancer showed up again on a cellular level.   My PET scans still say no evidence of disease; however, the ND says it would take about 8-10 months before they would see it on a PET.   This happened once before and we knocked it back to a near normal scan with Graviola and Whole Apricot Seed.    After having multiple liver mets, bone mets and chest node mets, I have been NED now for 4 1/2 years.    I am on Herceptin and Tamoxifen still but I actively take herbs when it shows up at all on my biofeedback scans.  Honestly, I have no idea which is to attribute the success so far so I keep doing all of it.

Jennifer, that's such wonderful news! I wasn't aware graviola came in capsules. Does your naturalist recommend any brand?  Are you supposed to take it every day?

One more thing. About the apricot pits, do you buy the kernels from inside the pits or do you eat the whole pit?  My doc recommended a brand of kernel that's no longer available and rxed 6 per day.

The last I heard, AIDS patients were using the apricot kernels to lower their viral load. But I don't know if they eat the kernels or there is a way of processing or pureeing them for more absorption.

Anyway, good luck with your continued progress. You inspire us all :)

I wish I still had my bottle of Graviola so I could tell you the brand.  I checked google and man there are many different options but I didn't see my brand.  I'll check around here and see if I cn find my receipt.  I took two in the morning and one in the afternoon for three months.  I am off of it right now until June.   Interesting article from Snopes. In the end like many herbs and natural remedies, it is not determined.

    http://www.snopes.com/medical/disease/graviola.asp

I take whole apricot through herb drops.   Pure Herbs in the brand.  I know the FDA pulled them from the market due to a labeling issue.  My naturalist told me they made them dump hundreds of thousands of dollars of product but they are supposed to be back on the market probably about now.   I take 40 drops two times a day.   I am on maintenance right now at 40 drops once a day.

The lady I met who healed herself takes graviola and the name is Raintree I think. Its one of the things she really believes in as she gave me an article about it she sells it in her store. She takes a page and half long list of supplements but the only ones in the store are graviola and essiac tea. I bought a dropper bottle of graviola from Swanson but I haven't tried it yet. Waiting til I run out of maitake. I would say its definitely worth trying!

    http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-help/about-cancer/cancer-questions/can-graviola-cure-cancer

It says graviola supplements could cause nerve changes similar to Parkinson's. I think it's great that it can cause someone's tumor markers to go down. But if those changes aren't reversible, I'm not sure I'd want to risk it, at least until I really need to. Other than drinking a graviola milk shake or eating the fruit, which I find delicious. Or maybe I should look into biofeedback scans. Thanks for the info, Jen and praying hard your next PETs are clear!

A friend of my husband just recommended this to us.  I wanted to share how it was suggested I take it to see if anyone else has heard of this and if they think it is correct.  I am stage IV with multiple bone mets and 1 recently found liver met.  It seems like everyone I talk to has some cure for cancer.  I have been given MANNATECH product AMBROTOSE, XANGO JUICE, ALKA-V6, GUARDIAN SPIRIT (essiac formula), the aloe vera, honey, and tequila combo, DETECAN solution, and now GRAVIOLA.  To be honest, I have not tried a single one!!  I take that back...I did try one dose of the aloe vera with tequila combo, but couldn't walk around all day with a buzz!!  haha   I am very interested in trying the Graviola.  Just wanted to hear more feedback since I have never tried anything other than what my doctors recommend.

Anyway,  I was told that I can buy the Graviola through Amazon and to try the following:

10.5cc Graviola, 3c aloevera juice, 1c organic cherry juice, 1/2c stevia

    Take 2tbsp 4 times daily

    Refrigerate after mixing

I did read it is recommended to take a break from taking it.  2 days a week, 1 week a month, or 1 month every 3 months.

Anyway.....hoping to find some opinions on this...

Thank you very much for your opinions!  Hoping something works!

    Hi Linda,

I was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago and went through BMX and I am doing radiation right now. I have been researching this disease and came up with some information online regarding graviola which is sometimes called Guyabano. One source suggested making a tea with graviola leaves which is also sold in Amazon. If you do a search on google and type "guyabano tea", you will see one of the sites talks about "Guyabano against cancer and other diseases". In this site, they talk about how to make the tea and for how long to take it. I have no personal experience with graviola but have read some people's comments on how they had good results with it. If you try it, would you please come back and let us know how it turns out? I also have read about possible Parkinsons disease as a result. I just wanted to let you know what I have found in my research. I wish you the best of luck. Please give us updates with your journey.

Here is a link that sort of explains the biofeedback scans.

    http://ezinearticles.com/?Bio-Feedback-Technology-Offers-Exciting-Breakthrough-to-healing-Physical-and-Emotional-Dysfunctions&id=173801

When I went for my first scan at the naturalist doctor, he knew nothing about me.   I had a lumpectomy on my right side and just had my first round of chemo.   When I made the appointment, they knew nothing of my disease or why I was there.    We chatted about different things and after I did the scan he started right away with sort of leading questions since they are not allowed to diagnose you.    He know I had cancer, he knew where (breast, liver, bones).  All of my chemo drugs showed up on the scan.   he knew I was having horrible stomach issues.  The scan told him I was lacking sleep and my emotional state was "horror"... pretty darn accurate.   I have gotten a scan every six months now for 5 years and each and every time it is spot on.  My daughters also have gotten scans.  My youngest has generalized anxiety disorder and her medical doctor wanted her on an antidepressant.  We treated it successful naturally and I was so glad we did.  I did not want a 12 year old year on antidepressants.     Sorry I got off subject but that is what the biofeedback scans are all about.    If you ever have the opportunity to get one done, I highly recommend it.

    Hi Jennifer,

The biofeedback machine is very interesting. Does insurance cover it? What doctor has these machines? If insurance does not cover it, how much does each visit cost including the use the machine? Did you use Graviola only in the capsule form? Besides graviola and apricot do you take anymore herbs or vitamins? Thank you for your help.

    Hi New2bc

I go to a naturalist doctor for my scan and it is not covered under insurance.  Perhaps if you can find a medical doctor who utilizes it (not likely though) it could be covered.  I get a total scan once a year and a mini scan usually at 6 months (just looking for cancer at the mini scan).   It runs $150 for the scan.     I so far have used Graviola only in the capsule form.     Here is a list of some of the other supplements I take:

    Calcium – 1800 mgs

    Magnesium – 500 mgs

    Vitamin D  - 4000 iu

    Borage Oil – 800 mg

    Fish Oil – 800 mg

    Flax Oil – 800 mg

    Transfer Factor – 600 mg

    L-Lysine – 1500 mg

    Biotin – 2500 mg

    Vit. A. – 5000 mg

    Folic Acid – 200 mcg

    Vit B6 – 2 mg

    Vitamin B1- 20 mcg

    MSM – 200 mg

    Horse Tail – 29 mg

Alpha Lipoic Acid – 25 mg

Grape Seed Extract – 25 mg

    Aspirin – 1 day

    Boswellia/Curicum

    Black Cohash

I rotate in some others now and then but these are the core ones.   Once in a while my naturalist will give me some Red Clover or some other herb for support depending on what I have going on.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for sharing this information. So you take the whole apricot also everyday along with the items mentioned above? Do you start the graviola if the biofeedback machine shows some area of concern?

My oncologist wants me to start tamoxifen after the radiation. How is this medicine working out for you? I am sorry I have a lot of questions. In the past 2 months I had to do a lot of reading and ask a lot of questions.

I am glad you found a good naturalist to help you. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Hi everyone, I just recently started making the tea from the soursop leaves after recently being diagnosed with liver mets.  Original BC diagnosis was 18 months ago.  I did the traditional route of mastectomy, chemo, radiation and Tamoxifen and the cancer came back.  Now I'm willing to give anything a try.  I'll be scanned in April to see if the liver lesion has changed or if any other mets are detectable.  Surgery or further systemic treatment will be decided then.  I have noticed a change in my bone and muscle pain (from Tamoxifen) since I started drinking the soursop tea.  So if nothing else, it gives me a quality of life back that I have not had for several months.  Time will tell if it has any impact on the mets.  Blessings to all:)

Hi, I am new to this thread. I have mets to liver, lungs and bones. I was told about Graviola by a lady in the waiting room at the hospital. She tried it while waiting for treatment after her operation.(recommended by her son who works in China as a Pharmacologist). She took it for 6weeks before starting her chemo and her TMs went down by 200 from 900 to 700. She now takes Paw Paw caps along with her chemo and her markers are still coming down. I have researched paw paw and it is reported to be more effective than graviola  without the side effect. 2 tabs 3 times a day.

I have had to take a 3week  break from my chemo due to SEs so I have been taking paw paw during the break. I have bloods done tomorrow and start back on chemo Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if markers have changed.

    wishing you all good results

This is commonly known as guanabana throughout Mexico, Central and South America.  The fruit is made into yogurt, ice cream, juice and nectar.  You can buy cans of nectar in Miami -- I think they also sell the yogurt there.  I fell in love with it both during the years I lived and worked in Latin America.

The trees won't grow in S. Florida because it is just a wee bit too cool some years.  Its cousin, the sweetsop, does grow well.

As for the leaves, I see several warnings against using them in cancer treatment, stating they are neurotoxic.  I'll stick with the fruit products mainly because they taste so good.

I have the leaves and have been drinking the tea at night. Is soothing and I love the earthy flavor. So far no negative side effects, except for some loose stools. Just one of many things I'm using. Can't tell if it's helping. Jenn of Mich, thanks for posting that list. I take MSM too.
