questions about a cough

Options

I am on Taxol for TNBC that came back this year....  UGH...   I have 2 nodules on the right lunch which the oncologist says is nothing  because it's BC and not lung cancer, thanks to a biopsy..  In December I started with a dry cough that started overnite, I put myself on Mucinex which takes it away.  A week later I developed a fever out of no where...  The dr put me on Levaquin for 7 days.  I was fine until 3 nights ago when in the middle of the night I started with the dry cough which kept me up all night.  As a result, ALL of my muscles are killing me...  I started myself back on Mucinex the next day and it has almost disappeared.. but all my muscles are hurting.  I am seeing my oncologist Tuesday, Jan 29 for 3 month results (bone scan, CAT and xrays)..  I'm just so scared right now...   The CAT was done Thursday and I had an IV in my arm and my upper arm is killing me where it was in a holder/sling...  Can anyone give me positive news..  I'm a wreck...  I should have said as soon as I take a epsom salts bath, I feel great.. so I am thinking this is all muscle related??  HELP...

mermaid, there's more information about Coughing at this link from the main Breastcancer.org site, including why that bath can be making you feel better: "Warm, moist air can soothe a dry cough."

Other members may have suggestions from their own experiences - please post again to let us know how your appointment goes on Tuesday!

Hello, you asked me to write back.  Today wasn't such a good day. I have remained SO positive and went into see the doctor the results of all those f-ing tests that are so horrible.  I didn't get good news...  It could have been much worse..  The doctor was very disappointed.  She said because I look SO good and feel SO good, she expected much better.  The nodules on my lung have grown .1 in size.. but the good news is the Taxol kept it from going anywhere else...  She is now going to switch me over.. I have a choice of 3 things..  Carboplatin with Gemzar, Xeloda.. or Eribulin which was recently approved for BC women that have tried 2 other chemos that have failed.  The Eribulin seems like the side effects are much less..  except for hair loss.. but the cold cap people have assured me that the cold caps DO work with eribulin..  I'm saying I'm not crazy about all the side effects with Carbo..  all those anti nausea drugs that make you so glued up.. don't sound so healthy...  Do you have any input on Eribulin?
