Hi.... I'm very new to this. My mother told me about her breast cancer just recently. She is having her surgery this friday for a lump and they are taking out all limpnods as well. I am still in shock and I'm just deeply saddened that my mom has to go through all of this. She will either be having chemo or radiation. Doc said prob chemo. Please anyone who has gone through this with some wisdom on how to help her and words of advice and most importantly PRAYER ;).

Thanks so much!

Ansley

You don't say how old you are, but during chemo she could use a lot of help around the house. My daughter gave me fleece pj's that buttoned down the front (easier to get in/out of after surgery). It might not be cold enough for fleece in GA, but something soft would be nice. I think the main thing is to tell her you love her and ask her how you can be helpful. If she's computer savy, coming here will give her a ton of support. It's hard on you to hear the news. Use prayer to keep both your spirits up. (((((HUGS)))))

I believe that one of the best things you can do is to show how much you love her. Lots of hugs from my son is what helped me. Helping put around the house with the chores will be a big help also. Sending you and your mom prayers.

I personally know what it feels like to be told that your mom has breast cancer. It is incredibly hard, but you have to stay strong for her. She will need you now more than ever! Whether you can help her around the house, drive her to places she needs to go, or just send her a phone call every day, she will appreciate any of it. Even just funny text messages to make her smile during this hard time helps. I was in college when my mom went through this and i did anything to brighten her day even if i wasn't at home. Just let her know you are there and that you love her and would do anything for her. You and your mom are in my prayers and i wish the best of luck to both of you!
